Chris Hunt grew up on Auckland’s North Shore and then studied law at Otago University. He was partner at Philips Fox (now DLA Piper) for 10 years, and also worked for a leading multinational law firm in London. Returning to New Zealand in 1997, Chris took over one of North Harbour Law’s predecessor firms from Jeremy Dillon. He has been involved with many large and complex commercial and property transactions. Chris is known for his pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach, and enjoys providing his clients with speedy and efficient results.

Tony Edward attended Auckland University Law School, and was partner of Rennie Cox in Orewa for many years before merging his practice with North Harbour Law’s predecessor firm—Hunt Edward Worker—in 2001. He has raised a family of three children while serving on the Board of Trustees for Takapuna Grammar School for six years. Tony is frequently called upon by the local community to give talks and seminars about his areas of expertise, particularly in the area of Elder Law and setting up Enduring Powers of Attorney. Tony enjoys the contact with real people and their lives that general practice provides him. He is very personable and is known for his open, collaborative, and inclusive approach.

Jeanine Mitchell grew up in Orewa, attending local primary schools and was head girl at Orewa College in 1999. She has been a lawyer for almost 20 years, starting her career in civil litigation and working in a specialist litigation firm in Auckland’s CBD. Since joining North Harbour Law over a decade ago she has gained experience in all areas of general practice including property transactions, with a particular focus on asset planning, elder law and trusts (including trustee duties and obligations and beneficiary rights under the Trusts Act 2019) and relationship property matters. Following in the footsteps of her father, local Accountant Merv Huxford, Jeanine enjoys using her expertise to help others and has volunteered her time assisting in governance of local charitable organisations. She is also currently on the Board of Orewa’s business association, Destination Orewa.

Michael Hawkins grew up on the Hibiscus Coast and completed both Law and Science degrees at the University of Auckland in 2012 before joining North Harbour Law in 2013. Michael acts for a broad range of private and commercial clients on projects throughout New Zealand, with a particular focus on complex subdivisions and property matters. Michael is focussed, meticulous and dedicated to achieving smart results for his clients. His key practice areas include property, commercial transactions, trusts and asset planning, and relationship property.

After completing his studies at Otago University, William gained broad experience in a variety of roles in both the legal and business development sectors, working for large international law firms across New Zealand, the UK and international markets. Dani is a Hibiscus Coast local and past Head Prefect at Orewa College. She obtained degrees in Law and Commerce at the University of Auckland. Dani spent the first part of her career in a dispute resolution team at a large commercial law firm in Auckland, before returning to the Hibiscus Coast to join North Harbour Law in 2020. Dani enjoys helping clients within the local community and practices across a range of areas including property, commercial transactions and relationship property matters. She works closely with William Hunt and Chris Hunt.
