Growing up on the Coromandel, attending Thames High School and being part of a smaller community meant my move in 1985 to open a branch office In Orewa for a city law firm was a natural progression for me.
While I enjoyed being a partner in a city law firm it has always been working with individual clients and providing legal advice on those issues that confront families in their daily lives which has been the most satisfying aspects of my legal career.
I have raised a family of three children while serving on the Board of trustees of Takapuna Grammar School for six years. The majority of my practicing life has been in Orewa. For a period of some seven years I also managed the Manly office of North Harbour law which had incorporated the practice of Lynton Bates.
In the 38 years I have been in practice I have developed longstanding relationships with clients and now their families, which has been a privilege. In recent years I have developed an expertise in elder law. I have given talks and seminars to local community groups on elder law issues, enduring powers of attorney, trusts and estate matters.
I continue to enjoy the contact with real people and their lives that general practice provides.
